Rajiv Patel, O.D., FAAO
Optometrist
Dr. Rajiv Patel grew up in Texas and graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He completed a residency in Hospital-Based and Geriatric Eyecare at the Portland VA Medical Center, where he served as a clinical instructor to interns from two colleges of optometry.
Dr. Patel has extensively worked with the eye care community as an Adjunct Associate Clinic Professor with Pacific University College of Optometry and offered clinical procedures workshops for the Oregon and Alberta, Canada Optometric Associations. Hehas also done extensive volunteer work for international eye care teams, the Oregon Special Olympics program, and the Free Clinic of Southwest Washington.
Dr. Patel is a member of numerous organizations and has served as the clinical examiner for the National Board of Optometry and a consultant to the Portland VA Medical Center. He was president of the SW Society of the Optometric Physicians of Washington, where he was awarded the Special Distinction Award for his contributions to optometry in Washington. Dr. Patel is a Fellow in the American Academy of Optometry and Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.
Today, Dr. Patel runs the Vancouver Vision Clinic, a multi OD and multi-location practice in southwest Washington. Patients appreciate his relaxed, comfortable manner, and enjoy his enthusiasm in teaching. In 2019, CooperVision named the Vancouver Vision Clinic to their Best Practices Class, a nationwide program recognizing ten outstanding eye care practices in the United States each year. Outside of work, Dr. Patel enjoys tennis, travel, and exploring the Pacific Northwest with his wife and three boys.
